Postcard Instructions

Thank you so much for writing postcards for the Micheal for Cobb campaign! In your kit, you will find a set of postcards and address labels. We have not provided postage in kits, but we are happy to pick up finished cards once finished. If you wish to donate postage and mail out yourself, we are extremely grateful for that contribution to our effort! It really adds up.

You are writing to a special set of voters – people aged 30-45 that are likely to have children in our schools. They are not strong Democrats but they are likely Democrats who vote in elections.

Below you will see some examples of postcards that others have done. The message is flexible, but tailor it more to what you think what might appeal to a parent and tied to Micheal’s priorities of addressing Cobb’s declining reading scores, providing more resources in our classrooms especially to students with specialized needs, and doing more to keep our children safe in our schools. We DONT want “vote blue all the way down the ballot”, but more “vote for Micheal because…”

I’m a former Cobb County student inviting you to join me in voting for Micheal Garza. He’ll make sure all student voices are heard, ensure student safety within all our schools, and create a welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds. Please vote for Micheal this November. Postcard FAQ

Write the card first, then add the address label, and lastly put the stamp on the card.

Minor mistakes are totally okay. Using whiteout or whiteout tape can come in handy, but with small mistakes you can cross something out and keep going with the message. If a card has a major issue, you can throw it out. But the bar for deciding to throw out a card should be very high.

A good practice is to write out your message on a separate sheet of paper to get an idea if it will fit on the card.
